Bill “Blast” Cordero / "WILD STYLE"
FOR SALE !
Original Painting by Bill "Blast" Cordero / 173cm x 40.5cm mixed media on canvas
Sometime in the early 90s, I was asked to photograph a promising young grafitti artist named Bil Blast.
I photographed Bil in my NYC studio and also photographed many pieces of his artwork on canvas. As payment for the photography, Bil gave me the piece "WILD STYLE" that i am now offering for sale.
The importance of thios particular piece is that Bil shows the influence of Rammellzee and Rammellzee's theory about ikonoklast panzerism on Bill's work. This painting depicts a futuristic subway car that is armed with rockets and machine guns for protection against what I am not sure. Zombies, I suppose.
Featured on the subway car is the "leopard" face that was painted on the wall in a handball court in the Bronx and the logo of the influential Hip-Hop Film "WILD STYLE".
Price upon request.
This painting has a scratch and other wear on the edges. |
A restoration would be in order! |
This illustration by Rammellzee shows the style of his Ikonoklastic panzerism. I once asked Rammellzee about Bil Blast and Ramm called Bill a copycat...
