Dieter Meier

I got the assignment to shoot Dieter Meier for “Interview” magazine. I had gotten a press kit for the new “Yello” album and learned that Dieter was an artist as well as a musician.

I took the ideas behind Dieter’s art and incorporated them into a Dali-esque landscape on a table in my studio.

I had the setup complete when Dieter’s record company called me and said Dieter had no time.

I told the label that I only need Dieter for five minutes.

Dieter came, saw my set, put his head up through a hole in the table top and then stayed for an hour, drinking all my beer…

My cat jumped on the table in the middle of the shoot and really made the picture.
