Psychedelic Furs

Psychedelic Furs
I got the assignment to shoot the Psychedelic Furs for Andy Warhol’s “Interview” magazine.
I was expecting the whole band, but only Rchard Butler, his brother and their lighting tech came to my studio.
I had run out of middle format film for my Hasselblad and called a “wrap”, when Richard asked me if I could shoot some shots with their lighting tech in the photos. I picked up my Paxette 35mm camera that already had a roll of 35mm colour negative already loaded. The Paxette was an old German rangefinder camera with a leaf shutter and no focus screen. One had to estimate the distance to the subject and “hope and poke. I also liked that the Paxette had an unusual frame, look at the edges here.
The lighting guy jumped out of the frame which I thought was appropriate as he wasn’t really in the band.
