Talking Heads
This is an outtake from a shoot I did for SPIN magazine.
The band was in the middle of recording an album and they gave me 15 minutes in a recording studio.
I went to the studio and set up two paper backdrops.
I got my lights ready and asked the band to sit in front of the camera.
I shot them for about two minutes, burning through a couple of rolls of middle format film.
“Thank you very much”, I said.
That all?
“If you come back in five minutes, I will make a different photo.”
I shot another two minute session and left.
Later, when SPIN offered them the cover, they said that wanted to work with that SPIN photographer who was
really fast...
