The Genius aka GZA

I met Gary aka The Genius with his manager, Mel Quan, to discuss concepts for The Genius’s first LP on Cold Chillin’ Records.

Their idea for The Genius cover was to have him preaching from a pedestal wearing more gold chains than anyone else ever did. They told me that their idea was to “out-gold” all the other rappers.

So I built a gold room, gathered gold accessories and books and he is wearing my father’s bathrobe that was made in Damascus. The bathrobe is covered with little black men hunting cheetahs with dogs, bows and arrows.
