The Police

This is one of my favourite live shot that I ever made. Up on the balcony in the ballroom of the Hotel Diplomat. I was shooting B&W analog with my Canon F1 and a 200mm lens. I was probably more than 100 feet from the stage. I saw Sting climb up on the drum riser and I knew he was going to jump.

I had developed the habit of shooting on the beat, knowing that musicians tend to do interesting things on the beat. My timing was perfect. I caught Sting at the apogee of his leap, the strings on his bass are sharp.

He was at the point of neither going up nor down.
